Story of Founder
In 2013, Fu Song, the brand founder, returned to work after giving birth, but struggled to find a laptop bag that was both practical and stylish. Drawing on her rich experience in user experience design, Fu Song decided to create her own. Soon after, her mother, Ms. Fu, invited Song's grandmother, a skilled traditional artisan, and other craftspeople of her age in hometown Shanxi to bring her daughter's design sketch to life.
This olive green tote, born from a blend of creative passion and family love, became Songmont's first bag.
This special bag was appreciated and ordered by those around her, igniting Fu Song's enthusiasm for designing products that prioritize user experience and making her keenly capture the market gap. Fueled by this newfound passion, she set out to create her own brand, leading to the birth of Songmont.
As our production methods matured, Wang Jie, a respected professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, joined us as a co-founder to drive the brand's aesthetic development. Wang Jie is renowned for his work as the "Sports Icon Designer for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games". With his expertise in graphic design and keen interest in brand culture and lifestyle aesthetics, Wang Jie significantly enhanced the visual consistency and cultural expression of Songmont. His contributions were instrumental in establishing the brand's offline spaces and maintaining its distinctive visual identity.
