The first bag of Songmont was handcrafted by Song's mother, who is a skilled artisan with extensive sewing experience. When the founder Song could not find a practical and stylish laptop bag on the market, her mother helped her bring the design to life. This bag not only marks the beginning of Songmont, but also reflects a mother's love for her daughter.

In the early days of Songmont, to encourage and support the daughter's entrepreneurial ideas, Song's mom quickly assembled a "Granny Team" in her hometown Shanxi. The team members are all craftswomen in their own fields who are willing to learn and work. The rapid development of the time has led to many traditional crafts being replaced by machines. However, Songmont's needs quickly reignited their passion. With an average age of 65, their years of experience proved invaluable. These veteran craftswomen confidently embraced the opportunity to make bags, showcasing their talent and devotion.

The grannies bring their artisanship, experience and the spirit of hard work, simplicity and passion to the brand, making our products warmer, more inclusive, and reflective of cultural heritage. As the brand grew, grannies gradually transitioned from making bags to repairing them, helping Songmont preserve the warmth of handmade craft and extend each bag's life with care.
