All our leathers are sourced from LWG Gold-rated and ISO-certified tanneries that meet the highest standards of environmental and ethical production.
We use full-grain leather from the best of the crop for most of our collections (except suede and exotic leather, which don't use full-grain leather by definition). Full-grain leather means it comes from the top layer of the hide, naturally preserved pores with an exceptionally low flaw rate — no retouching, no coating.

At Songmont, we go further: we only select A-grade full-grain hides from Europe, reserved for the very few and selective houses.
We will introduce our curated leather selection here.

Vegetable-Tanned Leather

Our A-grade full-grain hides come from Barcelona, Spain, with a 95 % flawless surface rate. The leather undergoes an eight-hour shrink-grain process that achieves a 40 % natural contraction, creating a lighter yet more structured form.

With time and use, the leather becomes increasingly supple and lustrous, while retaining its structure — soft, yet full of shape.

It is tanned not only with premium Silvateam tannins from Italy, but also enriched with Norwegian deep-sea fish oil and organic Southern European olive oil, allowing the leather to retain long-lasting luster — staying moisturized, never dry or stiff. After 60 rounds of wet-and-dry rubbing, it can finally achieve a color fastness of 4.5 — 50 % stronger than the industry average.

Full-grain Tumbled Cowhide Leather

Hand-selected A-grade full-grain cowhide sourced from Europe and the Americas, with a thickness of 2.5 mm. The pores remain visible, giving the leather a refined, tactile, and naturally springy feel. Using over 30 artisanal processes, the hides are tumbled with natural vegetable tannins—such as fish oil, neatsfoot oil, and tanning extract—in large wooden drums for 30–60 days. This slow, traditional method allows the tannins to fully penetrate the hide, causing the leather to naturally shrink and form irregular, organic grain patterns. (Note: This is not the artificially embossed “lychee or pebble grain” commonly found on the market.)

During this process, no artificial coatings or corrective finishes are applied. The leather retains its original texture and natural grain. New leather begins with a matte surface; with daily use, it becomes increasingly smooth, lustrous, and rich—developing a unique patina that records the passage of time.

Nubuck

The finest selection within full-grain leather — only hides with delicate pores and uniform grain are chosen. The surface is carefully buffed with a specialized sanding machine, then hand-polished to achieve a velvety, suede-like touch. Because of its complex process, true nubuck is rare and costly. It carries a gentle luster that grows warmer with time.

Nappa

Our full-grain Spanish bull Nappa leather is known for its buttery-soft, skin-friendly touch and remarkable strength. It combines the tenderness of lambskin with the endurance of cowhide. When touched, it feels like the skin of a newborn — warm, smooth, and irresistibly soft.

Dual-tone Nappa:
Crafted from premium full-grain Nappa leather from Spain, this material captures both modern refinement and quiet sensuality. Its dual-tone water-dyeing process allows colors to unfold in layers — deepening with touch, revealing time through texture. In Ebony, subtle red undertones emerge over time, forming a soft patina that feels personal and effortlessly modern. In Cloud and Navy, shades of black and white intertwine — the former carrying a quiet depth beneath its calm surface, the latter revealing a warm red undertone that adds vibrancy and youth.

Suede & Lux Suede

Our suede is made by splitting the surface of European full-grain cowhide to reveal a tight, compact nap with a natural matte texture. It feels dense and sturdy — vintage in character yet exceptionally durable. After repeated tests, we developed a custom wax ratio that gives the suede a naturally weathered look.
Our Suede is finished with a second water-dyeing process for rich, saturated color and a sophisticated sheen -- only the finest hides can withstand this technique. Because of the natural structure of suede, slight color migration may occur. This is the authentic beauty of genuine suede: soft, luminous, and alive with time.

Vegan Leather

We collect, sort, clean, shred, and reshape marine waste to generate our recycled vegan leather, which meets stringent international carbon emission standards and The Ocean Cleanup Plan. The vegan leather bags can often be repaired or recycled at the end of their useful life, further enhancing environmental friendliness and sustainability. Note: Vegan leather is different from vegetable-tanned leather. The former is made from upcycled plastic, the latter from actual leather.
