Leather Maintenance
Proper care allows your Songmont piece to accompany you beautifully through time. Each material has its own character — by understanding and tending to it gently, your bag will grow even more radiant with use.
O1. Leather in General
Avoid contact with water, perfume, alcohol, and greasy substances. If liquids touch the surface, gently dab with a clean, light-colored, soft cloth.
For oil stains, apply a neutral, colorless leather balm with a dry sponge or soft cloth, and wipe gently.
For dirt trapped in the grain, use a very soft toothbrush and a touch of balm, cleaning in light circular motions.
Avoid direct sunlight, heat, or humidity for extended periods.
Avoid rough surfaces to prevent scratches.
As natural leather may experience color migration, be cautious when pairing light and dark tones together.
When not in use, store your bag upright in its dust bag. Lightly fill it with tissue paper to help maintain its shape.
Keep it in a cool, dry place — avoid sealed plastic containers to prevent moisture buildup.
O2. Suede
Avoid contact with oil, water, and damp environments.
Use a special suede brush or dry sponge to remove dirt or light water stains, brushing gently along the nap.
For long-term protection, apply a suede protector spray before use.
Avoid using suede when wearing light-colored clothing, especially cotton, to prevent dye transfer.
Store in a breathable dust bag in a dry, well-ventilated space.
O3. Vegetable-Tanned Leather
This leather develops a natural patina over time — marks and color changes are part of its unique story.
If scratches appear:
Rub them gently with the oils from your palm; they will gradually fade and blend with the surface.
Alternatively, use a soft cotton cloth with a small amount of neutral balm in circular motions.
If the leather gets wet:
Allow it to air dry naturally, away from heat. As moisture evaporates, the original tone will return.
O4. Vegan Leather
Avoid exposure to oil, water, and heat.
Clean gently with a damp cloth or pH-neutral cleaner, using circular motions.
Avoid harsh solvents or alcohol-based products.
Be mindful of color transfer between the bag and clothing.
Store upright in its dust bag, in a cool, ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
O5. Canvas & Denim
Songmont's canvas features a medical-grade TPU coating that is resistant to water, oil, and dirt.
For light stains, simply wipe gently with a damp cloth.
Do not machine wash; professional dry cleaning is recommended when necessary.
Denim fabric naturally develops character over time — slight color fading or transfer is part of its charm.
When storing, keep the bag in its dust bag, avoiding humidity and direct sunlight.
