The Story of Wind
"There’s a friend of mine who dreams of controlling the wind"
Our film I Am the Wind Itself begins with a goal to control the wind in the character's youth, a goal that leads him onto a journey, which turns into a struggle, and eventually turns to futility. The character even captured winds and stored them in jars, but eventually dissolved into emptiness.
"You'll end up at a modest school, with an ordinary job"
At the heart of the story lies a dialogue between younger and older selves during the journey to control the wind. "Uh... I'm sorry, you'll end up at a modest school...you'll pretend to fall asleep..., the elder finally admits.
"That you are not important at all...."
The younger responds with a sense of release, "It’s okay if you’re not successful. The wind grabs us and then grants us freedom...and you mean a lot to me."

The conclusion is not about victory, but reconciliation. The wind becomes a companion rather than an adversary—carrying seeds, shaping mountains, and shaping us as well.
Jiang Qiming
Jiang Qiming, an actor known for his grounded performances and quiet intensity. His approach to acting reflects the influence of those he admires most—Daniel Day-Lewis, whose body of work is small yet unwaveringly deep, and Heath Ledger, who once described preparing for The Joker as starting with the simplest way: living it and feeling it over a long period of time.
Jiang himself admits that he is still in pursuit of such depth, but what sets him apart is his steadiness: an ability to remain unchanged in the face of recognition brought through fame, to live with constancy even as success arrives. That balance of sharpness and humility resonates closely with Songmont’s own philosophy.

To become the wind is to acknowledge both strength and gentleness, constancy and change. Through this collaboration with Jiang Qiming, we wanted to express more than style. We wanted to express a way of being: moving lightly, staying true, and meeting each other with clarity.
